Going On A Hiatus
I just wanted to let you all know that I am going on a blogging hiatus for a little while. This is what happened to me Saturday night:
A mortar round hit my trailer. I am thankful for two things: 1.) I had just left to go get something to eat, so I wasn't there. 2.) The mortar didn't explode. Had it exploded, my trailer would have caught fire and I would have lost everything. Thankfully I wasn't there and I was able to save majority of my stuff.
Now when you come to work in a war zone, everyone makes it perfectly clear that this kind of thing can happen to you at any time. I came here with that knowledge that there is a high probability of danger involved. But it doesn't really hit home till it lands in your front door ~ Literally! So I am just a little shaken up right now.
I know I was already on a kind of hiatus from blogging due to my poor Internet connection here. For now I am going to take a longer hiatus. I do really miss blogging and consider many of you fellow bloggers my friends. I do want to come back to blogging as it is a nice little relaxing past-time hobby. But for now, I think I am going to go reflect on life a bit. I have 8 months left here in Iraq. I hope I will be back to blogging before my time here is up and that some of you bloggers will still be around.
